The PAA invites qualified firms to submit sealed proposals to demolish and remove a dock and replace it with a fishing pier with a 400-foot-long open pile public fishing pier with a 25-foot by 35-foot deck header and a 16-foot by 30-foot open sided gazebo along the Severn River at 9425 Whitaker Road in Gloucester County. As a cost savings, the existing dock material may be disposed of on site in a designated area. All responses to this Request for Proposal and any resulting contract shall be consistent with and governed by the Virginia Public Procurement Act. The budget for this project is $80,000. PAA does not intend to award a contract over the amount of $80,000.

The links below include the Marine Resources Commission permit, plans and drawings, and placard to replace an existing public fishing pier with a 400-foot long open pile public fishing with a 25-foot by 35-foot deck header and a 16-foot by 30-foot open sided gazebo along the Severn River at 9425 Whitaker Road in Gloucester County. All activities authorized herein shall be accomplished in conformance with the plans and drawings dated received March 12, 2021, and revised drawings dated received April 28, 2021, which are attached and made a part of this permit. Please save a copy of these documents for your records.

This placard reflects the authorized activities for inspection purposes and must be conspicuously displayed at the work site throughout the construction phase. Failure to post the placard in a prominent location will be considered a violation of your permit conditions.

YOU ARE REMINDED THAT ANY DEVIATION FROM THE PERMIT OR DRAWINGS REQUIRES PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FROM THE MARINE RESOURCES COMMISSION. FAILURE TO OBTAIN THE NECESSARY MODIFICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED A VIOLATION AND COULD SUBJECT YOU TO CIVIL CHARGES IN AMOUNTS NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 PER VIOLATION.

The work authorized by this permit is to be completed by April 30, 2024. Please notify the Commission upon start of this project via an email sent to jpa.permits@mrc.virginia.gov.
